Scimago Institutions Rankings 2010

En la página web de Scimago Institutions Rankings ya se pueden consultar los informes relativos a la producción científica de las Instituciones a nivel mundial y también por regiones.

Permite, además, la consulta de los informes por temas. El relativo a las ciencias de la salud (Medicina, Enfermería, Veterinaria, Odontología, Profesiones Sanitarias) ubica a la Universidad de Harvard en la primera posición a nivel mundial, y nos señala las instituciones españolas más destacadas:

1. Hospital Clínic i Provincial de Barcelona: 1º en España y el 115 a nivel mundial.
2. Universidad de Barcelona con el puesto 169 a nivel mundial.
3. Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, 215 a nivel mundial.
4. CSIC, cuarto a nivel nacional ocupando el puesto 243 a nivel mundial.
5. Hospital Vall d’Hebron es el número 260 en la escala internacional.
6. Hospital Universitario La Paz, 305 a nivel mundial.
7. Hospital General Universitario Gregorio Marañón (327 a nivel mundial)
8. Universidad Complutense de Madrid (a nivel mundial es el puesto 332)
9. Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau ocupa el puesto 374 a nivel mundial.
10. Hospital Universitario Ramón y Cajal es la institución número 387 a nivel mundial.

Los indicadores utilizados para medir y clasificar las instituciones han sido:

• Output: An institution’s publication output reveals its scientific outcomes in terms of published documents in scholarly journals.
• International Collaboration: This value shows the institution’s output ratio that has been produced in collaboration with foreign institutions. The values are computed by analyzing the institution’s output whose affiliation includes more than one country address over the whole period.
• Normalized Impact: This indicator reveals the ratio betweenthe average scientific impact of an institution and the world average impact of publications of the same time period and subject area. The values are expressed in percentages and show the relationship of the institution’s average impact to the world average, which is 1, ‐‐i.e. a score of 0.8 means the institution is cited 20% below average and 1.3 means the institution is cited 30% above average. • High Quality Publications: Ratio of publications that an institution publishes in the most influential scholarly journals of the world. Journals considered for this indicator are those ranked in the first quartile (25%) in their categories as ordered by SCImagoJournal Rank SJR indicator.
